Fast, spiritual & virtual
Finally a new format in Vienna! Young artists who live and work in Vienna show their work in Belvedere 21. Twelve Viennese project spaces were invited to curate: always three in a team, each for around three weeks in a row in an exhibition. The aim is to gain an insight into the working methods of a young generation of artists, what topics they deal with, how they work formally.
According to the curators, trends are already clear: craftsmanship skills are playing a greater role in art again, virtuality and digital images are taken for granted and are also warm-hearted, a clear retreat into the private, inner and spiritual. Perhaps an answer to the loss of utopias and future perspectives? Curated by Severin Dünser and Luisa Ziaja.
"Currently, a generation of young artists lives and works in Vienna that is characterized by dynamism and versatility. We provide a platform for the latest trends in Belvedere 21 - a unique opportunity for all those interested to obtain information". (General Director Belvedere Stella Rollig)
"This exhibition goes beyond the format of a Viennese exhibition. It not only offers the protagonists a platform, but also tries to bring the concerns and attitudes of a new generation into relationship with their forms of expression and thus to trace the new. Whereby, of course, the new always represents a form of projection" (Belvedere 21 - Curator Severin Dünser)
